Amigurumi Crochet

Adult Enrichment / Create -
Adult Enrichment 25-26

Start learning amigurumi, the Japanese art of crocheting or knitting stuffed animals. Learn the magic ring, color changes, no-sew tricks, and new stitches. Great for beginning crocheters who know the basics (like holding your yarn, chains, simple stitches, etc). There is no guarantee you'll master everything in the class but you'll go home with the yarn and patterns for all three projects.

A $7 material fee is paid to the instructor at class via cash or Venmo.

Purchased supplies include fiber-fil stuffing and yarn for these projects: the chicken, the pig, and the ice cream cone plus small bits of yarn colors for facial details on the pig and chicken.

You Bring to class:

  • Hook: recommended size between 7mm - 8mm. It can be a metal or plastic hook - both work fine with this type of yarn.
  • Stitch marker: cheap ones available but definitely bring your own if you have a preference
  • Scissors that can cut your yarn
  • Upholstery needle - for weaving in your loose ends
  • Pen/pencil and paper for note taking

I have been crocheting for over 10 years. I started with making gifts for my friends and family. I enjoy crocheting everything from dish scrubbies to baby clothes to stuffed animals. A friend recommending selling my stuff online and I have had my Etsy site for 9 years now. I have also been selling my stuff at summer craft fairs for the last 4 years.
