Adult Enrichment / Language, History & Culture -
Adult Enrichment Spring 2021

Who Are Our Neighbors?

Our community is always changing. New immigrants bring new foods, languages and traditions. The contributions that various people and cultures make to our society continue to expand and strengthen our community. In these monthly sessions, you have the opportunity to increase your understanding of a local immigrant culture or minority group which is an integral part of the fabric of our community.

This series is provided as a collaboration between Robbinsdale Area Schools Community Education and Achievement and Integration, Careers and Colleges.

In 1975 the first Hmong arrived in Minnesota. A distinct ethnic group with ancient roots in China, they were refugees from the wars ravaging their homeland in Laos. Today the Twin Cities metro is home to the largest concentration of Hmong in America. Learn about their endeavors, accomplishments and contributions to our community.
