Robbinsdale Area Schools is committed to providing multiple pathways for students to access high school math courses to earn college credit (i.e. AP-Calculus). Towards that end,low cost summer math “Boost” courses are an option for students entering grades 7 through 12 who want to independently cover the material in one of the courses listed below. The Summer Boost option is available for advancement or for review. Students have the opportunity to complete a full year (two semesters) during the summer. Before registering, please get approval from your current math teacher for the class you are interested in studying. DETAILS
Students who master the material are allowed to advance to the next logical math course in the fall.
Students do not receive credit for the course covered.
The program is offered at a cost of $49 for students. Students who qualify for free or reduced lunch through District 281 will pay $25.
Students can choose to advance a grade-level in math, or review the last course they just completed.

RESOURCES AND SUPPORT
This program is intended for those students who can study independently.
A course book is available if needed. You will need to contact the media specialist at your school prior to the end of the spring semester to obtain a book.
Teacher-led study sessions are available once a week throughout the summer. These sessions allow students to come and get their questions answered. Attendance is not mandatory, but highly recommended. Schedules of the sessions are listed above.
The middle school program will be primarily a self-directed class using the online Compass Odyssey Computer Program with the once-a-week classroom support. Students can email the teacher if questions arise, at Benjamin_Drexler@rdale.org.
High school students also have the support of the online Schoology Program. They may post questions on Schoology or email Lorraine Meredith for help at Lorraine_Meredith@rdale.org.
To show mastery of the material, students must score at least an 80% on the first and second semester final exams for the course they are studying. Exams are in class, on paper.
Teachers will contact school counselors with the names of all students who have demonstrated mastery. Counselors will then change the fall math course in which those students are enrolled.
Teachers will contact all students with their results.
There is no transportation offered for the Math Boost program.
