    Learn the ins and outs of 3D Design and 3D printing with TinkerCAD! TinkerCAD will teach you 3D design and 3D printing! While learning 3D design skills, students will make custom DnD D4s (4-sided) and D10s (10-sided). They'll also do fun DnD-inspired challenges in TinkerCAD's SimLab. The custom dies will be printed and sent home. Dies will be printed and sent home at the end of class. Printing and material fees are included.

    Design your own 3D pocket monster using TinkerCAD. Create your own Pokémon-inspired 3D designs and experiment with TinkerCAD’s SimLab. This course will give students an introduction to using CAD modeling and design software. Student designed Pokémon will be printed and sent home at the end of class. Printing and material fees are included.
  • Abdominal Strengtheners

    Abdominal muscles weaken and lose shape due to past pregnancies, surgeries, sitting at a desk all day, being sedentary and poor posture. Learn a series of extremely effective exercises to quickly strengthen all four layers of abdominal, WITHOUT stressing back or neck joints and WITHOUT getting on the floor.   • Acrylic Pouring: "Beach Wave"

    Join us for a fun evening learning how to create fun and easy-fluid art. Instead of paint brushes, we will use gravity to move the paint and different techniques to create two ocean-inspired pours. It's a lot of fun (and somewhat addicting!) and a great way to spark your creative energy. You will create two 8”x8” canvases and transport home in a provided tray. Your final piece will change during transportation and when it is completely dry.

    Learn the ancient sport of archery. The basics are easy to pick up. The fun is in honing your skills to master the bow. Join us to discover the basics of archery and elements of safety. Shoot at stationary targets and compete in games. Using NASP (National Archery in the Schools Program) instruction, the Three Rivers Park District’s Outdoor Recreation School will guide you in learning to safely shoot a compound bow.   • American Red Cross CPR/First Aid Blended Training Course

    Enjoy the convenience of a blended learning class for your certification. Complete the majority of your coursework online (at your own pace), then finish your course in the classroom with our instructor. This American Red Cross course is designed to meet the regulatory requirements for childcare workers. Learn how to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant until professional help arrives. The course covers the four steps of first aid and first aid skills such as finding the problem, stopping bleeding, bandaging and using an Epinephrine pen, as well as child CPR AED, infant CPR and optional modules in adult CPR AED, child mask, infant mask and Asthma Care Training for Childcare Providers. *The instructor will provide an online course link within 48 hours after registration. Students must complete the online portion before attending an onsite check-off session with the instructor. If the online portion is not completed before the onsite session, you will be turned away from taking the onsite class. The onsite session is scheduled for 1.5 hours, which allows time for you to practice on a manikin prior to the final check-off with an instructor.     Appetizers: Quick, Easy and Enticing

    We'll create over 20 appetizers that require less than 20 minutes, from start to finish! You can serve these appetizers as a first course or a snack for family and friends. You could even create a complete buffet. Our selections will include recipes for spreads, hearty appetizers, dips, dippers, nibblers, hot appetizers and more! Enjoy the selections during class or take your samples home. Please bring a food container with you to class.

    Aqua Tots

    Aqua Tots (6 months to 3 years): The purpose of the Parent/Child class is to familiarize children with the water and teach swimming readiness skills. This class also provides safety information for parents and teaches them techniques they can use to help orient their children to the water. **One parent is required to be in the water at all times during Aqua Tots.
  • Aqua Zumba

    Known as the Zumba ‘pool party'! Fast and slow rhythms combine with resistance training to make you sweat.Expect to do exaggerated dance moves. The tempo is slower than normal Zumba because of the resistance of the water. You’ll do large muscle movements such as: Reaching up with your arms and lifting your legs in the water. Slow exaggerated circling of your hips and shoulders. Aqua Zumba is different to aqua aerobics. Aerobics goes from one point to another. Zumba has you doing something different for the verse, chorus and even bridge of a song. If you want to get a little fitter and are the sort of person who has to swing their hips to the right song, then Aqua Zumba is for you. You’ll also burn around 350 calories a class.

  • Armstrong High School Private Voice Lessons

    * This is course is only available for Armstrong High School Students. This is not open for public registration. Private lessons for Armstrong Students ONLY* The instructor, Patty Kramer, Matthew Tintes or Kirsten Hoiseth Thayer will contact you to set up dates and times of your chosen sessions. Ms.Kramer offers both 30 minute or 60 minute lesson options at 4, 6 and 8 lesson packages. Ms. Hoiseth Thayer offers 30 minute lessons at 4, 8 and 12 lesson packages. Mr. Tintes offers 30 minute lessons at 4, 8 and 12 lesson packages. Please see below for more information on each instructor. * If your child receives funds from ISA, Booster, etc., you will need to call us at 763-504-6990 to register. You MUST have funding APPROVED and in a specified account at AHS to QUALIFY to use these funds. We will contact the school to make sure, if you do not have funds you will be expected to pay the full amount upon registration. Scholarships do not guarantee full funding of the courses. Instructors Name - Patty Kramer Bio: Patty Kramer (mezzo-soprano) is a private voice teacher and performer livin’ and thrivin’ in the Twin Cities area. She received a Bachelor of Music degree from Concordia College (Moorhead, MN), a Master of Music degree from Bowling Green State University (Bowling Green, OH), and is ABD (all but dissertation) with a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Before moving to the Twin Cities, Patty worked as an Adjunct Instructor of Voice for Peru State College and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln teaching applied voice and Musical Theater Studies. She also worked as a vocal coach for the Broadway Academy in Sutton, NE for five seasons. Nowadays, you can find Patty working at Westminster Presbyterian Church as a section leader, singing with the VocalEssence Ensemble Singers, coaching at VESOTA (VocalEssence Singers of This Age), or teaching voice lessons at AHS. Her favorite hobbies include reading fantasy novels, playing with her two cats, trail running with her husband Eric, and consuming copious amounts of cold brew coffee and dark chocolate. Instructor Name- Kirsten Hoiseth Thayer Instructor Bio: Kirsten Hoiseth Thayer, Soprano, is a private voice teacher originally from Wayzata, MN. She holds her BA in Vocal Performance from Southeastern Louisiana University and her Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance from Rice University. From there, she was a Resident Artist with The Opera Institute at Boston University, followed by a year-long Residency with The Virginia Opera. She has performed with many opera companies in the United States, most notably Minnesota Concert Opera, Minnesota Opera, Chautauqua Opera, Opera in the Heights(Houston, TX), Duluth Festival Opera, and The Virginia Opera. She was the primary Music Director for Blue Water Theatre Company for fifteen years, and loves teaching classical and musical theater repertoire. She is now the co-founder and Music Director for The Art of Reconciliation Performing Arts Company in Plymouth, MN. In addition, she maintains a private voice studio in Plymouth and teaches private voice lessons at Wayzata High School. When she’s not teaching or directing, Kirsten loves spending time with her two young daughters, cooking, and going on long walks and adventures. Instructors Name - Matthew Tintes Instructor Bio: Matthew Tintes is a private voice lesson instructor, performer, and choir director. Originally hailing from Fargo, ND, Mr. Tintes is a graduate of North Dakota State University, earning a degree in Vocal Music Education. Mr. Tintes then attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison, where he earned his Master's Degree in Vocal Performance. For seven seasons, Mr. Tintes was part of the nationally and internationally acclaimed men’s vocal ensemble, Cantus. While with the Minneapolis based Cantus, Tintes got to perform and tour the country, and the world, as well as record several albums, and appear on various popular programs such as A Prairie Home Companion, and NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts. In addition to his studio of approximately 40 students and directing The Hosanna Choir at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Bloomington, MN., Mr. Tintes also maintains an active performance calendar, performing with ensembles in and around the Twin Cities.
