  • Acrylic Pouring: "Beach Wave"

    Join us for a fun evening learning how to create fun and easy-fluid art. Instead of paint brushes, we will use gravity to move the paint and different techniques to create two ocean-inspired pours. It's a lot of fun (and somewhat addicting!) and a great way to spark your creative energy. You will create two 8”x8” canvases and transport home in a provided tray. Your final piece will change during transportation and when it is completely dry.

It’s a game played on a court similar but smaller than a tennis court, where players hit a whiffle ball with a paddle slightly bigger than a ping pong paddle.   • American Red Cross CPR/First Aid Blended Training Course

    Enjoy the convenience of a blended learning class for your certification. Complete the majority of your coursework online (at your own pace), then finish your course in the classroom with our instructor. This American Red Cross course is designed to meet the regulatory requirements for childcare workers. Learn how to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant until professional help arrives. The course covers the four steps of first aid and first aid skills such as finding the problem, stopping bleeding, bandaging and using an Epinephrine pen, as well as child CPR AED, infant CPR and optional modules in adult CPR AED, child mask, infant mask and Asthma Care Training for Childcare Providers. *The instructor will provide an online course link within 48 hours after registration. Students must complete the online portion before attending an onsite check-off session with the instructor. If the online portion is not completed before the onsite session, you will be turned away from taking the onsite class. The onsite session is scheduled for 1.5 hours, which allows time for you to practice on a manikin prior to the final check-off with an instructor.     Appetizers: Quick, Easy and Enticing

    We'll create over 20 appetizers that require less than 20 minutes, from start to finish! You can serve these appetizers as a first course or a snack for family and friends. You could even create a complete buffet. Our selections will include recipes for spreads, hearty appetizers, dips, dippers, nibblers, hot appetizers and more! Enjoy the selections during class or take your samples home. Please bring a food container with you to class.

    Known as the Zumba ‘pool party'! Fast and slow rhythms combine with resistance training to make you sweat.Expect to do exaggerated dance moves. The tempo is slower than normal Zumba because of the resistance of the water. You’ll do large muscle movements such as: Reaching up with your arms and lifting your legs in the water. Slow exaggerated circling of your hips and shoulders. Aqua Zumba is different to aqua aerobics, aerobics goes from one point to another. Zumba has you doing something different for the verse, chorus and even bridge of a song. If you want to get a little fitter and are the sort of person who has to swing their hips to the right song, then Aqua Zumba is for you. You’ll also burn around 350 calories a class!

Sumi-e Japanese Brush Painting Explore the ancient practice of Japanese Sumi-e, a unique style of black-ink brush painting on paper. Join other Sumi-e painting enthusiasts and practitioners for a morning of painting and calligraphy, sharing techniques and learning from one another. The Sumi-e group welcomes both those with experience in Sumi-e ink painting as well as beginners. For beginners we provide instructions and materials for use in class, to get started. Join us to develop your brush painting skills, and experience the peaceful and elegant art forms of Japanese calligraphy and Sumi-e painting.
  • Home Electrical Repair I & II

    Week 1: In this introductory class, we will review the home electrical system, different types and gauge of wire, application and safety. Proper techniques discussed for stripping wire, attaching to outlets, switches and light fixtures, as well as test equipment. Bring straight and Phillips screwdrivers, long nose pliers and wire stripping pliers to class if you have them. Week 2: Continue learning by attending this hands-on class. You will install single pole and 3-way switches, outlets and light fixtures to energize a light bulb and test the circuit. We will discuss proper installation of different light fixtures and ceiling fans. Prerequisite: Basic Home Electrical Repair Class I. Please bring your tools from Repair Class I.
