The Basement is middle school child care for students grade 6-8.

Welcome to Mechanical Minds: From Ideas to Machines in Motion! This engaging STEM summer camp invites young engineers, grades K-5, to dive into the exciting world of engineering and mechanics. Throughout the camp, budding inventors will explore fundamental engineering techniques and mechanisms, sparking their creativity and curiosity. Participants will have the opportunity to build their own robots, bringing their imaginative ideas to life, and embark on science projects that reflect the camp's dynamic theme. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, campers will develop problem-solving skills, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of how machines work. Join us for a summer of innovation, discovery, and fun, where each child’s potential is transformed from ideas into mechanical motion!
Camp Includes hands-on activities:Robotics & Engineering: campers engage in exciting challenges where they build robots, test out different gears, and create their gadgets.Science: Campers tackle DIY science experiments, like designing hydraulic arms or building miniature catapults, learning how real engineers and innovators solve problems.Coding: Programing & making with micro:bit (K-2), Minecraft Mod Creation(3-5)
