    Join us around the campfire, as Dean plays the guitar and leads & us in singing songs that are fun, upbeat and harmonious. Most of all, the songs are easy to sing and remember. Take a walk with a naturalist and enjoy making smores as well!

September 17 – The Raptor Center A special bird experience as The Raptor Center at the University of Minnesota brings in 3 ambassador raptors (typically an owl, a hawk, and a falcon). We will learn what makes each of them raptors and what makes them stand out amongst birds. Preregister by September 15. October 14 – Consumer Road Show (Tuesday is the Correct date) Scams targeting senior citizens come in all types and sizes, range greatly in complexity, and may originate from someone close to you or a stranger halfway around the world. Join staff from the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office for a presentation and conversation about common scams targeting seniors and what you can do to keep yourself safe. November 19 – Bridging Discussion on Decluttering and Downsizing Fall is the perfect time of year for a deep dive into decluttering your home and preparing for a downsizing move. Learn from Bridging, a 501(c)3 non-profit, who empowers people to thrive in their homes as they strive for housing stability by passing along your donated furniture and housewares. Register by November 17. January 21 – Cafesjian Art Trust Museum Presentation Join staff from the Cafesjian Art Trust Museum (the CAT) to learn more about this new modern and contemporary art museum located in Shoreview, MN. We will discuss the museum’s origins, its unique art collection, and what’s coming up next. We will also study several key artworks from the museum’s current exhibition Collidoscope: de la Torre Brothers Retro-Perspective, on view at the CAT from October 17, 2025 to January 31, 2026. Register by January 19. February 18 - Uncovering & Saving History Travel with Doug Ohman as he photographs cemeteries and uncovers stories of the long forgotten. Learn where the only Revolutionary War soldier to die in Minnesota is buried. Learn the difference between a cemetery and a graveyard and much more. He will share his experiences, photos, stories and actual relics that will bring history to life. Register by February 11. March 18 – Funner Brothers Donut Company Join us for a sweet and hands-on experience with the Funner Brothers Donuts team! Learn what it’s like behind the scenes at a bustling bakery, from mixing dough to making those perfectly golden rings. After the talk, get ready to roll up your sleeves and decorate your very own donut masterpiece, then enjoy your delicious creation! Register by March 16.
  • Creating with Buckthorn Workshop

    Make your own toy or creation out of buckthorn branches using non electric hand tools such as pruners, rasps, drills and tenon cutters. Common buckthorn wood is suitable for carving, turning, and making small specialty items. All materials provided. Please register by October 28. Space is limited*
