Join this class, to make 4 beautiful Alcohol Ink (AI) glass Glitter Ornaments After prepping the ornaments, the instructor will discuss and demo various processes of working with AI. Then you will pick colors of your choice to create unique ornament for yourself or as a gift. Note: Each ornament can reflect the same color scheme or each ornament can be a different color scheme. Totally your choice! The ornaments are painted on the inside so the colors will last forever. **Supply fee of $20 (cash) will paid to the instructor the night of class. Additional ornaments can be purchased in cash from the instructor in class for $5/per ornament.
  • Alcohol Ink Painting:Burst of Sunflower

    Have you ever wanted to try your hand at Abstract Art that is fun and Colorful? Create a unique Burst of Sunflower using vibrant inks that create a one of a kind abstract art piece! Alcohol Ink (AI) is a new painting technique that just screams ABSTRACT. With so many different techniques, AI will soon become a favorite medium. To make your sunflower, you will first lay down ink for the center. The next step is to create the petals. The petals will be created using a hand rubber blower. Remember that this is abstract so don’t worry that each petal is perfect. The last step is to create the center by dropping various colors to brighten and create depth in your flower. Remember this is the fun part – explore your creativity. Your instructor will help guide you through each step. Just come to have fun and enjoy yourself. Best part of using Alcohol Ink is if you don’t like a part of your picture, you can wipe it off with Isopropyl alcohol. **Supply fee of $15 (cash) will paid to the instructor the night of class. You will make one 6” x 6” painting in your chosen colors. Given time, you can create a 2nd painting with a white or black background.
  • Beginner Watercolor Painting I

    Explore the wonder of watercolor painting by learning fundamentals and techniques of this exciting medium. This course is intended for the novice to beginner; you do not need prior experience to enroll in this class. There will be a set curriculum to help you understand and feel comfortable as you discover your artistic journey using watercolors. This 5 session course will begin with a few painting exercises and finish with two completed paintings. Supply list can be found here. Course Objective: Plan to experiment and explore the traditional water color painting techniques – In this case we will be studying the personality of watercolor. What makes the watercolor do what it wants to do? This class is for the first time painter or someone who has tried watercolor before but would like to get a better understanding of how it works. Our goal is to have at least one excellent painting by the end of the session. Plan to have group critiques and discussions throughout the session. Please come prepared to discuss: Your level of experience: Novice, Beginner, etc., what art is for you, what makes a good painting, why you want to be a painter, your interest, hobbies, and just all around conversations. Our first day: We will have brief introductions to include: a discussion about the questions above, why is it called watercolor and not colored water? Getting ready to paint, and dabbling in a few watercolor painting exercises.     Create a beautiful picture frame or sign. The cutting is already done and stencils are provided. Popular signs include “welcome”, house numbers, state of MN, last names. Both projects are wonderful for home decorations or to give as gifts. The first night is dedicated to working on your project, having fun, and discovering your creative side.     Create various projects from scratch, such as a purse, bookmark, sandwich bag, and headband, using both hand sewing and machine techniques.     Is there a woodworking project you would like to make but do not have the equipment? Want someone who could guide you through some steps in the project? Join our woodshop class and learn the operation of woodworking machines construct an adirondack chairs, little yard library, or a project of your own! Wood will not be provided. Your instructor will help you make a material list for the project of your choice. *Bring a electric/battery hand drill, wood supplies will be discussed with you the first night of class depending on the project you choose. *Ages 12+ welcome:participants under 18 need to be accompanied by an enrolled adult.

    Hobby Group: Sumi-e Japanese Brush Painting

    Sumi-e Club Meet with others who share your passion. All abilities welcome. Groups are self-directed. Bring your own supplies. There is no class fee to participate but there is a $19 annual fee per person. Stop by the Adult Enrichment office at Pilgrim Lane in Plymouth call 763-504-6990 to join a Hobby Group. Sumi-e Japanese Brush Painting Explore the ancient practice of Japanese Sumi-e, a unique style of black-ink brush painting on paper. Join other Sumi-e painting enthusiasts and practitioners for a morning of painting and calligraphy, sharing techniques and learning from one another. The Sumi-e group welcomes both those with experience in Sumi-e ink painting as well as beginners. For beginners we provide instructions and materials for use in class, to get started. Join us to develop your brush painting skills, and experience the peaceful and elegant art forms of Japanese calligraphy and Sumi-e painting.

    Learn to make pottery on a kick wheel! Beginning students receive an introduction to basic pottery techniques: wedging, centering, throwing, trimming, and glazing. Grab a friend and join the fun as you learn a new skill! *Experienced students please consider the advanced course. *The final night of each session is a 30 minute project pickup from 6:30-7:00.

    This class is for those with some throwing experience looking to build upon an existing skill set on the kick wheel. Students should have basic experience centering, throwing and trimming on a kick wheel. We will address more complex forms and surface textures in this class. *Beginning students should enroll in the First Timers option. *The final night of each session is a 30 minute project pickup from 6:30-7:00.
  • Nuno Felted Scarf

    Use silk, merino wool, and other embellishments to create a one of a kind scarf using the wet felting technique called "Nuno Felting". Using these materials, some water, some soap, and some physical rolling and agitation of the materials, you will create a colorful wearable piece of art! This class requires some standing and rolling back and forth motions to get the process started. You will be working with water and on your feet, so please dress accordingly. Bring with you several old towels, a pair of scissors, notepad and pen/pencil, and a plastic bag that will be used to bring home wet materials. Bring a bagged lunch and a water bottle $20 supply fee paid to the instructor.

    Immerse yourself in the painted beauty of a mountain lake landscape. Bob Ross taught a technique that shows anyone can paint. This class will take you step by step through the painting process to a completed painting you will be proud to display in your home. The class is 4 hours long but most will be done in about 2 1/2 hours. All abilities welcome. All supplies are provided. At the end of the class, you will leave with a completed 12x16 oil painting. *Open to anyone ages 9+ (with accompanied adult). *No experience needed.
  • Sip & Knit Chunky Blanket

    Learn step-by-step to hand knit your very own soft chunky knit blanket! No needles or knitting experience is required and all supplies will be provided. You will receive 140 yards (5 skeins) of size 7 chunky yarn (100% polyester) available in a variety of colors. Your completed blanket will measure approximately 40”x50”. Your finished blanket is machine washable on gentle cycle with cold water and can be tumble dried with no to low heat. Makes a 40 x50" chunky knitted blanket. 5 balls of yearn will be available to each participant in multi colors to create your own blanket! Enjoy a crafting night at Wicked Wort Brewing a 21+ event.     During this one-of-a-kind event, Jeremy Ross from Your Bearded Artist will guide you step-by-step through hand crocheting your very own soft, chunky pet bed or use it as a basket. No needles or crocheting experience required, and all supplies will be provided. You will receive 84 yards (3 skeins) of size 7 chunky yarn (100% polyester) available in a variety of colors. Your completed pet bed/basket will measure approximately 24” round and 8” tall. Enjoy a crafting night at Wicked Wort Brewing a 21+ event. Join us for a hands-on experience, where you'll learn the ancient wax-resist method and craft your own stunning masterpiece. This is a beginner class, no experience necessary! A beautiful craft done all year long. Make it a memorable outing and sign up with a friend or family member! Bring to class: An old pot holder or small hand towel 1-2 used tapered candles any color empty egg carton or plastic container to carry eggs home in $7 cash payable to instructor for supplies used. Wear clothes you don't mind if they get paint on.

    We're so excited to announce our new wine glass painting classes! We know that sometimes you just want to get together with friends and paint something fun. We also know that it seems like all of your friends are busy, and scheduling a date can be difficult. That's why we created this class. This art form can be used to create personalized gifts, decorative pieces for events or parties, or even to add a unique touch to your own glassware collection. **Includes two wine glasses. Supply fee of $10 must be given to the instructor before class. Participants can purchase additional wine glasses (in addition to the 2 provided) at a cost of $8/glass.
