We will cover the types of wrappers used, a plethora of filling ideas, rolling techniques, ways to cook, and how to serve. By taking this class, you’ll have a greater appreciation of a variety of egg rolls that there are as well as how to make them at home!

    Meet Laurel Severson Laurel Severson is a home economist with over 15 years of experience in commercial food service, recipe testing and editing. She lived in England for several years and is an avid cookbook collector. Laurel has been teaching cooking classes in the Twin Cities for many years. "The instructor was phenomenal! A+! She brought bags and bags of equipment and many recipes which she has tested herself." participant Fall 2015 Your guest will be shouting out a chorus of “Opa!” after you prepare this traditional Greek meal for them. This feast will include the national soup (Soupa Avgolemono), a lemon flavored chicken soup, a flaming cheese appetizer (Saganaki), plus an eggplant appetizer. We will prepare Zucchini with ground lamb (Moussaka), a wonderful variation from the better known eggplant dish. You’ll also master spinach rolls in fillo (Spanokopeta) and walnut cake with orange syrup (Karidopita).

She is currently teaching with several school districts community education programs and enjoys the work a lot.Homemade Chinese Wonton & Potstickers Easy, fun and delicious. Learn to make Chinese wonton and dumplings at home. Learn wrapping techniques and make tasty fillings, with the right textures and flavors. Boil, pan-fry or steam the finished products. Taste and take home samples to freeze for storage. $15 supply fees is payable to instructor at class. Please bring a food container with you to the class!

You will prepare a batch of jam/jelly from start to finish, learn basic ‘hot water bath’ techniques that are applicable to other canning projects and take home 1-2 jars to enjoy.

Learn where to shop, brands to select, preparation of the ingredients, assembly of the rolls and presentation. You will create both traditional rolled sushi (maki-zushi) and American California sushi. Start with the easy to make seasoned sushi rice, then select and roll wonderful ingredients such as chicken, shrimp, smoked salmon, crab, mushrooms, eggs, carrots, avocado, spinach, ginger and more!
