Have you ever wanted to try your hand at Abstract Art that is fun and Colorful? Alcohol Ink (AI) is a new painting technique that just screams ABSTRACT. With so many different techniques, AI will soon become a favorite medium. To make these beautiful roses, you will be using a hairdryer to move the alcohol ink around the edges until the ink dries leaving beautiful roses with abstract petals. To add variation, you can add a background before you add the roses, add leaves or melt the colors. Utilize various colors for your individual painting. Remember this is the fun part – explore your creativity. Your instructor will help guide you through each step. You will make one 6” x 9” painting in your chosen colors. Given time, you can create a 2nd painting. Just come to have fun and enjoy yourself. Best part of using Alcohol Ink is if you don’t like a part of your picture, you can wipe it off with ISO alcohol. Note: This class does use Isopropyl Alcohol **Supply fee of $15 (cash) will paid to the instructor the night of class.

The Break-It-Booth at Art Lab Rx is more than just a typical rage room. Release frustrations and unproductive thought patterns by hurling objects within its confines. Participants can choose from a variety of beads, baubles and bling to incorporate into their creations. Ages 13+ welcome to register with a registered adult. The end result is a beautiful mosaic that reframes a perspective, instilling a sense of hope and healing.

A beginner flower pressing class will allow you to create beautiful, unique pieces of art from nature, even if you have no prior experience with flower pressing. Session 1: Make your own flower press and fill it with spring blooms. Session 2: Use your pressed flowers to create a unique candle, jar, or frame. Children 12+ welcome to register with a registered adult

Come make a cute, bandana-style bib and a 10" x 10" taggie blanket that has smooth and textured ribbons for sensory exploration as well as a calming effect that babies can't resist. *Basic sewing skills required. Patterns available for your use and can be purchased from instructor, if desired. Bring to class: Sewing machine, 1/8 yard sew-in VELCRO,1 yard quilting cotton (or two 1/2 yard coordinating pieces), 1 yard satin and 1 yard grosgrain ribbon 3/8" - 7/8"wide, all-purpose thread, fabric scissors or rotary cutter and mat, ruler, seam ripper, pins.

Let’s play with fire!!! We will be using butane torches to fuse silver and create shapes that can be layered or connected to create a custom pendant for you to wear or give as a gift. Plenty of guidance and support means you can do this class with no experience necessary! No experience necessary. Bring: $40 Supply Fee Paid to the instructor the night of class.

Who wants to play with fire!?! We will be fusing silver using butane torches to create 3 individual silver rings. You can stamp, hammer and shape to your liking. Wear them together or separately. This in-depth braiding class is tailored for beginners. Learn fundamental braiding techniques, theory, and hands-on practice with a skilled instructor. You will develop motor skills and hand/eye coordination, confidence in braiding techniques in a supportive learning environment. Suitable for ages 11+ to join and learn the art of braiding hair. Written take home directions to continue your skills will be provided.

Sumi-e Club Meet with others who share your passion. All abilities welcome. Groups are self-directed. Bring your own supplies. There is no class fee to participate but there is a $19 annual fee per person. Stop by the Adult Enrichment office at Pilgrim Lane in Plymouth call 763-504-6990 to join a Hobby Group. Sumi-e Japanese Brush Painting Explore the ancient practice of Japanese Sumi-e, a unique style of black-ink brush painting on paper. Join other Sumi-e painting enthusiasts and practitioners for a morning of painting and calligraphy, sharing techniques and learning from one another. The Sumi-e group welcomes both those with experience in Sumi-e ink painting as well as beginners. For beginners we provide instructions and materials for use in class, to get started. Join us to develop your brush painting skills, and experience the peaceful and elegant art forms of Japanese calligraphy and Sumi-e painting.

Learning the basic knowledge about sewing and we will create projects from scratch. We will be using hands and sewing machine techniques. *Sewing machines provided by instructor *Fabric & materials included in price. Learn to make pottery on a kick wheel! Students receive an introduction to basic pottery techniques: wedging, centering, throwing, trimming, and glazing. Grab a friend and join the fun! *The final night of each session is a 30 minute project pickup from 6:30-7:00. This is a class with a specific focus on PROCESS over product. The goal is to slow down and become more aware of your wheel-throwing practice. *Projects will not be available to be taken home.
