  • Alcohol Ink Roses

    Have you ever wanted to try your hand at Abstract Art that is fun and Colorful? Alcohol Ink (AI) is a new painting technique that just screams ABSTRACT. With so many different techniques, AI will soon become a favorite medium. To make these beautiful roses, you will be using a hairdryer to move the alcohol ink around the edges until the ink dries leaving beautiful roses with abstract petals. To add variation, you can add a background before you add the roses, add leaves or melt the colors. Utilize various colors for your individual painting. Remember this is the fun part – explore your creativity. Your instructor will help guide you through each step. You will make one 6” x 9” painting in your chosen colors. Given time, you can create a 2nd painting. Just come to have fun and enjoy yourself. Best part of using Alcohol Ink is if you don’t like a part of your picture, you can wipe it off with ISO alcohol. Note: This class does use Isopropyl Alcohol **Supply fee of $15 (cash) will paid to the instructor the night of class.

    The Break-It-Booth at Art Lab Rx is more than just a typical rage room. Release frustrations and unproductive thought patterns by hurling objects within its confines. Participants can choose from a variety of beads, baubles and bling to incorporate into their creations. Ages 13+ welcome to register with a registered adult. The end result is a beautiful mosaic that reframes a perspective, instilling a sense of hope and healing.
  • Fused Silver Pendant

    Let’s play with fire!!! We will be using butane torches to fuse silver and create shapes that can be layered or connected to create a custom pendant for you to wear or give as a gift. Plenty of guidance and support means you can do this class with no experience necessary! No experience necessary. Bring: $40 Supply Fee Paid to the instructor the night of class.

    Learning the basic knowledge about sewing and we will create projects from scratch.     Learn to make pottery on a kick wheel! Students receive an introduction to basic pottery techniques: wedging, centering, throwing, trimming, and glazing. Grab a friend and join the fun! *The final night of each session is a 30 minute project pickup from 6:30-7:00.     Join us for some solstice season sunsets in the pottery studio. Come engage your senses, focus on your breathing, center yourself as you center your clay! This is a class with a specific focus on PROCESS over product. The goal is to slow down and become more aware of your wheel-throwing practice. *Projects will not be available to be taken home.   • Paint like Bob Ross- Sunset Lake

    Immerse yourself in the painted beauty of a sunset on a lake landscape. Bob Ross taught a technique that shows anyone can paint. This class will take you step by step through the painting process to a completed painting you will be proud to display in your home. The class is 4 hours long but most will be done in about 2 1/2 hours. All abilities welcome. All supplies are provided. At the end of the class, you will leave with a completed 12x16 oil painting. *Open to anyone ages 9+ (with accompanied adult). *No experience needed.   • Watercolor & Storytelling

    You will work with different types of water colors: pan, tube, pencils on 140lb paper. You will come up with a story board, telling a short story in 4-5 panels. Samples will be provided in class. Please bring $35 supply fee (covers paint and paper) paid to the instructor the first night of class. (CASH or check) Please bring any materials you have for a reduced supply fee.
  • Wheel Thrown Pottery: Beginner to Intermediate

    This course is geared toward beginner to intermediate level potters. We will focus on foundational forms such as bowls and cylinders, plus techniques in trimming, surface decoration, and glazing. Note: This class uses kick wheels (not electric wheels). Please register by June 30.
