Learn how to season, store, and care for it! We will discuss all of this and how to select and rehabilitate a cast iron pan that has seen better days and turn it into a pan you will use often with little work and all of the benefits of a great cast iron pan.
  • Colorful Glass Mosaics

    Glass mosaic sounds like a fancy, difficult art form however, you will learn how it can be fun & easy while you mosaic a table lamp or suncatcher. Look through the idea book, browse the patterns & stencils, & choose from dozens of colors of precut glass. The first evening will involve homework and the second evening will be grouting. *Supply fee: The 8”x8”x3” square lamp is $30, the 4”x 9” rectangle lamp is $45. The 10” diameter suncatcher is $25, 8”suncatcher is $23, and 6” suncatcher is $18. Fee must be paid in class directly to instructor via cash or venmo.     Kolaches are one of the Czech's National pastries. Immigrants brought their passion for kolaches to the Midwest as early as the 1860's. These Pastries are marvelous egg-rich, slightly sweet yeast dough. Traditionally filled with fruit, cottage cheese, or poppy seeds. Plan to Take home some of these scrumptious Pastries and share with friends and family! You will leave with many recipes, tips and techniques to master there Old Word delicacies! *Please bring containers to carry your creations safely home. Supply fee $15 (cash or check) will be paid to the instructor the night of class.
  • Dim Sum Dumplings

    Dim Sum refers to a Chinese or Cantonese meal consisting of numerous small appetizers or finger foods traditionally enjoyed in restaurants. It is considered a shared dining and social experience that can last for hours. Dim Sum often includes some sort of dumpling, and one of the most popular dumpling options is Pot Stickers! Join Tess for one of her newest classes as she guides you through the step-by-step process of creating the most wonderful pot stickers with homemade wrappers that will take you to culinary heights you never knew you could reach. A wonderful dipping sauce will also be created! You will have the option of making a pork-based filling or a chicken-based filling. You will also have the option of learning to make homemade wrappers, but of course store bought can be used as well. Freezing tips will also be shared. The experience will possibly make store bought pot stickers a thing of the past! Have your questions answered by the instructor, and interact with other participants as you cook-along with Tess to create some of the most wonderful Dim Sum you have ever tasted. NOTE: The instructor’s recipes are copyrighted and are only shared those that register for this class. This class will take place on Zoom, free online software. Participants will receive instructions on how to access the class prior to it starting. Please have your email listed in your online account. Participants will receive a list of ingredients in advance of the class with enough time for shopping and prep. Participants will also receive a copy of the instructor’s personal recipe in PDF format. As an added bonus, the instructor has created a private group and a public group on Facebook for participants of her cooking classes. Everyone will receive an invite to the groups although joining is optional. Come join the fun! For non-vegetarian, we can use different types of meat sautéed with various kinds of flavored butter and healthy oils.     Create a beautiful fabric collage hanging using a technique called Slow Stitching - a relaxing form of embroidery that focuses on process rather than pattern. We'll layer fabric scraps onto a 6" x 6" square and then use a various hand embroidery stitches and trims, beads, etc. to add texture and color. Come explore your creative side.     A fun and instructional introduction to beginning cross country skiing. Practice putting on equipment, falling down and getting up, diagonal stride/shuffle, stopping and hill techniques.     This fun activity became popular in Nordic countries more than 100 years ago. Ages 10+ welcome with a registered adult. With a few kicks on the packed snow or ice, the sleds gain speed and glide. Kicksledding is a great way to explore our parks in winter, have fun and stay in shape. Join instructors from the Outdoor Recreation School of Three Rivers to learn the basics of kicksledding. Equipment provided. If there is not enough snow to kicksled, we will plan guided hike on park trails. *refunds will not be provided if there is lack of snow.

    What makes a Focaccia a Focaccia, a Stromboli a Stromboli, and a Calzone a Calzone? How are they different? How are they the same? Discover the answer to these questions as you participate in this fun-filled Cook-Along Class as we dive into the world of unique Rolled & Stuffed Pizzas, and marvelous focaccia bread! Learn how to make your own homemade Focaccia Bread, a wonderful rolled pizza called a Stromboli, and stuffed Pizzas, known as Calzones with homemade pizza dough! Experience the rave reviews from previous participants of the instructor’s pizza classes yourself as you learn how to make your own pizzas with her step-by-step instruction. Take out Pizza may just become a thing of the past! On the Menu: Stromboli (rolled / filled pizza), Calzones (stuffed pizza), wonderful Focaccia Bread, and an OUT- OF-THIS-WORLD Pizza Sauce. TWO different types of homemade dough will be used. One will be for the pizza options, the other for the focaccia. The instructor will provide Step-by-step guidance and instruction help to ensure the process is a simple as can be. You can personalize their pizzas with and focaccia bread with toppings and fillings of their choosing. All recipes have been created by the instructor, and tested time and time again over the years, to ensure maximum flavor and ease. Choose which ones you would like to make and watch a demonstration of the others or if you feel up to it, make them all! You will feel like a pro after this class and be confident enough to create all of this deliciousness time and time again.     Hobby Group: Sumi-e Japanese Brush Painting

    Sumi-e Club Meet with others who share your passion. All abilities welcome. Groups are self-directed. Bring your own supplies. There is no class fee to participate but there is a $19 annual fee per person. Stop by the Adult Enrichment office at Pilgrim Lane in Plymouth call 763-504-6990 to join a Hobby Group. Sumi-e Japanese Brush Painting Explore the ancient practice of Japanese Sumi-e, a unique style of black-ink brush painting on paper. Join other Sumi-e painting enthusiasts and practitioners for a morning of painting and calligraphy, sharing techniques and learning from one another. The Sumi-e group welcomes both those with experience in Sumi-e ink painting as well as beginners. For beginners we provide instructions and materials for use in class, to get started. Join us to develop your brush painting skills, and experience the peaceful and elegant art forms of Japanese calligraphy and Sumi-e painting.

We will discuss proper installation of different light fixtures and ceiling fans. Prerequisite: Please bring your tools from Repair Class Week I.
