  • Crochet for Beginners

No experience is needed! The instructor will teach starter skills (holding your hook, make a chain, and simple stitches). You’ll also cover yarn basics, crochet tools, popular terms and how to read simple patterns. *Note: The class will work toward making cotton washcloths and coasters. Everyone learns at a different pace, so extra practice may be needed to fully master the skills and complete the projects. For the first class, the instructor will be bringing several yarn types for you to try. That way you can figure out what you like before deciding if you want to buy an acrylic yarn for practice as we move forward. So for the first class please bring: Hooks: Pack of crochet hooks that include two or three hooks that fall between 4-6 mm size. Make sure you check the hook sizing according to the "mm" size (ignore any letter labels). I highly suggest chubbier handles vs the skinnier all-metal ones. Amazon has some really affordable hook starter sets. If you buy a set online, double check the item details for the mm hook sizing - the images can be deceptive. Scissors that can cut your yarn Pen/pencil and notebook to take notes
